Palm Springs Markets and Street Fairs: Days, Seasonal Hours, and Locations

A Thursday evening street fair and a Saturday morning farmers market are different outings. VillageFest is a downtown browse for art, gifts, and food; the certified farmers market is a morning stop for produce and market shopping. Use the day, season, and location together when planning, because the farmers market changes venue and VillageFest changes its start time during summer.

VillageFest: Thursday Evenings Downtown

VillageFest takes over part of Palm Canyon Drive on Thursday evenings, bringing vendors and a pedestrian street-fair atmosphere to downtown. It works well alongside dinner, a gallery visit, or a short downtown walk. Leave room to browse rather than treating it as a quick grocery stop.

  • 📅 Day: every Thursday, subject to organizer announcements and event changes.
  • 🕒 October–May hours: 6–10 p.m.
  • 🕒 June–September hours: 7–10 p.m.
  • 📍 Location: Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs. Use the street-fair location, not the organizer’s office address.
  • 🔗 Visitor information: check the official VillageFest website and event calendar before heading downtown.

For a fuller walkthrough, use our VillageFest visitor guide. If you plan to eat nearby, choose a restaurant reservation that leaves enough time for the fair. Downtown restaurants can be busy on Thursday evenings, and street closures can change your usual approach to parking.

Want to Sell at VillageFest?

Visitor attendance and vendor participation are separate processes. Prospective sellers should start with the official vendor page, review the applicable categories and requirements, and follow the application instructions. Submitting an application does not confirm acceptance or a selling date.

Palm Springs Certified Farmers Market: Saturday Mornings

The certified farmers market runs on Saturday mornings, with an outdoor location in the cooler season and an indoor location during summer. The organizer lists the same morning hours for both seasons, so the most important detail to check is the venue.

October–May: Outdoor Market

  • 📅 Day and season: Saturdays, October–May.
  • 🕒 Hours: 8 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • 📍 Location: Palm Springs Cultural Center, 2300 E. Baristo Road.
  • 🔗 Plan your stop: use the Certified Farmers’ Markets website for current market information and announcements.

June–September: Indoor Market

  • 📅 Day and season: Saturdays, June–September.
  • 🕒 Hours: 8 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • 📍 Location: Palm Springs Pavilion, 401 S. Pavilion Way.
  • 🔗 Check before traveling: confirm the summer location and any special closures with the market organizer.

Bring a bag and plan what you want to carry afterward. If you are buying produce before a day out, think about how you will keep it cool. Vendors and offerings vary, so treat the market as a chance to see what is available that week rather than a guarantee that a particular item or seller will be there.

For questions about accepted payments, benefits programs, accessibility, or vendor participation, use the organizer’s current contact information. Do not rely on older benefit amounts or assume every stall uses the same payment methods.

Desert Hot Springs Farmers Market: Check the Current Dates First

The same organizer lists a Desert Hot Springs market at 66070 Pierson Blvd., with selected Sunday dates in the cooler season. Its posted date list does not identify a year clearly enough to use as a confirmed upcoming calendar. Check directly before building a Sunday outing around it.

  • 📅 Dates: selected Sundays; the current season’s specific dates need confirmation. This is not an every-Sunday listing.
  • 🕒 Listed hours: 8 a.m.–1 p.m.; confirm these for the date you intend to attend.
  • 📍 Listed location: 66070 Pierson Blvd., Desert Hot Springs.
  • 🔗 Confirm the next market: check the organizer’s Desert Hot Springs listing and current announcements.

If a fresh date has not been confirmed, choose the Saturday Palm Springs market as the more clearly documented market plan. Desert Hot Springs is a separate drive from downtown Palm Springs; confirm the event before making the trip.

Build a Simple Market Weekend

Thursday evening: have an early dinner downtown, then browse VillageFest during its seasonal hours. Saturday morning: visit the farmers market at the correct seasonal venue and leave time to take groceries back to your hotel or rental. Sunday: consider Desert Hot Springs only after verifying a specific market date.

These recurring outings can fit around architecture tours or a museum visit, but keep the market’s actual opening hours as the fixed part of the plan. For a dedicated shopping and restaurant outing in Palm Desert, see our El Paseo guide.

Before You Leave

  • Check the organizer’s current announcement for the day you plan to attend.
  • Match the seasonal hours and venue to your visit; a summer farmers market is not at the winter address.
  • Use the event location for directions, and allow time for downtown street closures or parking.
  • Bring what you need for the conditions and purchases, and confirm access arrangements directly when necessary.
